University of the Future is a series of webinars where PCG Academia consultants, together with representatives of cooperating universities, talk about practical aspects of using technology to support university processes in the area of research and teaching. PCG’s product offer is constantly expanding and evolving, so we want to keep you up to date.

In the newest third edition of the University of the Future events, we will present six IT solutions, including: a student information system and enrollment system – standardized and available as part of a cloud or on-premise installation, a system for handling syllabuses and for managing the academic career office, and two systems that use data on employees’ academic achievements – employee evaluation system and a scientific repository based on DSpace 7.

17th FEBRUARY – PCG DEAN’S OFFICE

The series will begin with the presentation of PCG Dean’s Office – a student information system developed by PCG in cooperation with a group of nearly 40 Polish public and private universities. Recently the system has been moved to the cloud thanks to the support of Microsoft, providing incomparably high security and scalability. The system is trusted by a large group of universities, which process data on nearly 1/6 of all students in the country. On the webinar we will present functionalities of PCG Dean’s Office and explain how the system implementation is carried out.

24th FEBRUARY – PCG ENROLLMENT

PCG Enrollment is a comprehensive system for managing the recruitment process, including candidate portal and tools for administration, as well as unique for this type of systems features such as multi-channel communication with the candidate and electronic document workflow – especially important in the face of the prolonged pandemic. At the meeting we will demonstrate the functionalities of the system and share best practices on how to relieve the recruitment office.

3th MARCH – PCG EMPLOYEE ASSESSMENT

The latest solution in the Sciencecloud family allows to conduct the process of internal evaluation of university employees. The system can be used both by the university authorities and administration, as well as by researchers and teachers themselves to monitor their performance. Automatic transfer data about employees and events to the system makes the whole process easier and faster. During the meeting, we will give a demonstration of system functionalities and talk about the implementation process.

10th MARCH – SCIENTIFIC REPOSITORY DSPACE 7 

DSpace is the most popular software for building open digital repositories – according to the global database OpenDOAR, 40% repositories in the world is using DSpace. On the webinar, we will present the its newest version – DSpace 7, show new functionalities and talk about upgrade process. We will also share our experience from current implementation of the DSpace 7 at the Jagiellonian Library, the main library of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow.

17th MARCH – PCG ALUMNI SUCCESS

PCG Alumni Success is a versatile solution, consisting of a platform, which offers students and graduates job offers, internships and apprenticeships best suited to their profile, and of a survey module that enables efficient career tracking of the alumni. Thanks to the analysis module, the university can easily verify, among others, the labor market demand for graduates’ skills. On the webinar we will demonstrate the functionalities of the system and explain how its implementation looks like.

24rd MARCH – PCG SYLLABUSES

The topic of the next webinar will be PCG Syllabuses. The system is designed for comprehensive handling of processes related to syllabuses – from preparation and filling to acceptance and publication, bringing considerable time savings for administration and teachers. Preparing a syllabus template does not require any technical knowledge – it comes down to a simple few clicks in the system. On the webinar we will present how the PCG Syllabuses works in practice and talk about the system launch at the universities.
