University of Zielona Góra will use Sciencecloud to prepare for scientific evaluation
28 June 2021 2 min readingPCG Academia has signed an agreement with the University of Zielona Góra for the launch of the Sciencecloud system including Analytics and Records modules with all functionalities. Sciencecloud will be delivered to the University of Zielona Góra as a service in the cloud (Software as a Service model), thanks to which start up of the application will take only a few weeks.
Sciencecloud is a modern system for managing scientific information at the university, tailored to the requirements set out in the Constitution for Science. The Sciencecloud system was created in 2020 at the request of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, whose ambition is to obtain the best possible result of scientific evaluation in 2022. Currently, the Jagiellonian University database includes over 36,000 scientific achievements assigned to 29 disciplines, and Sciencecloud is the overriding source of data in the process of evaluating the scientific activities of the best Polish university.
Under the agreement signed with the University of Zielona Góra, PCG Academia will launch two modules: Records and Analytics. The Records module allows to collect and process the information on the academic achievements of university employees within all three evaluation criteria, in accordance with the latest guidelines of the Ministry. The Analytics module, drawing data from the Records or other available data sources, enables monitoring and simulation of the filling of publication slots by scientists, taking into account the optimal selection of publications in the light of evaluation constraints and employees’ declarations included in the N number.
With the help of Sciencecloud, the employees of the University of Zielona Góra will be able to track the parameters of key importance for the evaluation and to monitor and optimize the implemented scientific strategy in individual disciplines on an ongoing basis. PCG Academia works closely with the National Information Processing Institute – National Research Institute to ensure automatic data transfer from the university to the Academic Achievement Evaluation System (SEDN).
