The contract signed between PCG Academia and the John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin provides for the implementation and updating of the repository, as well as a technical service for the development of the “Theo-logos” research database – a source of knowledge about theology and religions for society. This project is implemented under the “Science for Society II” Program.
The DSpace scientific repository is used for long-term storage and sharing of data in any format. It is used by more than 3,000 scientific institutions worldwide, making it a one-of-a-kind solution. It is used by universities at the top of the world rankings, i.e. Harvard, Yale and Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
DSpace is software developed in an open licensing model (open source) by a number of partner institutions centered around the US academic consortium LYRASIS. PCG Academia is the only official LYRASIS partner in Poland. We have been implementing, maintaining and developing the DSpace academic repository for many years. Confirmation of our competence and experience in this area is the status of Gold Partner of LYRASIS, which has been granted to only three companies in the world.
The John Paul II Catholic University of Lublin is the second ecclesiastical and ninth Polish university, along with Jagiellonian University, Warsaw University, John Paul II University in Krakow and SWPS University, among others, to decide to implement DSpace 7 in cooperation with PCG Academia.
