PCG Academia in the elite league – Platinum Status DSpace Provider
30 July 2025 2 min readingPCG Academia has earned the prestigious status of Platinum DSpace Provider, joining the ranks of the most trusted and advanced partners supporting the development of this global digital resource management system. This distinction is awarded by LYRASIS to companies that not only offer high-quality implementation and technical services to DSpace users, but also actively participate in the development and promotion of the entire platform. Achieving this level confirms PCG Academia’s long-standing commitment to the digitization of science and support for academic institutions in Poland and abroad.
To obtain Platinum status, PCG Academia had to meet a number of rigorous criteria, such as regular contributions to the DSpace source code, participation in the project community, providing technical support to many institutions, and financial contributions to support the development of the platform. The company successfully implements comprehensive DSpace implementations for universities and scientific institutions, offering not only technical know-how, but also strategic advice on open access management, Open Science policies, and integration with university systems.
Platinum status providers are distinguished by the highest level of competence, experience, and commitment to the development of the DSpace ecosystem. These are organizations that not only provide services but also shape the future of the platform—influencing its development directions, proposing new functionalities, and sharing knowledge with the user community around the world. By obtaining this status, PCG Academia confirms its position as a leader in digital solutions for higher education and science.
PCG Academia is also building a national DSpace community, as exemplified by the DSpace Poland National Group Conference, which we co-organized. The event brought together Polish DSpace users and resulted in the establishment of the DSpace Poland National Group, formalizing cooperation between institutions for the development, standardization, and promotion of DSpace in Poland.
