Discover Sciencecloud – a new webinar on science management tools
14 November 2020 2 min readingWe kindly invite you to the free webinar “Discover Sciencecloud ─ a modern IT ecosystem for science management at university“, which will be held on November 17, 2020, from 2pm to 3pm.
This is a repeat of the webinar from October 27th. We are organizing this session again, because due to technical problems some people could not fully participate in the previous meeting. We want to make it possible for everyone to benefit from the knowledge of experts and their practical tips.
The webinar will substantially complement the subject matter of discussions from the series of webinars #scientificevaluation2.0. During the webinar, we will look at the evaluation process from the practical and technical side. It requires many activities with a high degree of detail and accuracy from university employees, and also involves a huge amount of data. Therefore, universities use IT tools to improve this process by automating the most time-consuming activities.
Such a system that comprehensively covers the entire process of scientific information management, not only for evaluation purposes, is the Sciencecloud. The system lets universities collect, analyze and monitor large amounts of data on the scientific achievements of employees and on the implementation of the adopted scientific strategy in real time. The Sciencecloud system is used, among others, by the Jagiellonian University.
On the webinar, PCG experts – Prof. Łukasz Sułkowski and Piotr Masalski – will present the applications that constitute Sciencecloud: Scientific Analytics, Scientific Records and Scientific Repository.
With these apps, it is possible to constantly monitor the progress of scientists in their work on the declared scientific achievements in all disciplines. What is unique about Sciencecloud is the full implementation of the evaluation algorithm, which allows the university to select the optimal publications in order to obtain the best result of the discipline during the evaluation.
The systems will be presented in practice on the example of the scientific achievements of Prof. Łukasz Sułkowski. The experts will show how to use the Sciencecloud tools for evaluation, both from the perspective of the researcher and university managers.
