Academy of Innovation for Universities 2019
19 March 2019 4 min readingOn 15th February 2019 in Warsaw, at the initiative of PCG Academia and with the participation of six companies providing modern consulting and IT solutions for the higher education institutions, the second edition of the Academy of Innovation for Universities took place. The conference was officially opened by Professors Łukasz Sułkowski (on behalf of PCG) and Jerzy Woźnicki (on behalf of the Polish Rectors Foundation and Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland).
During the plenary session participants also listened to the presentation of Avista representatives – Edyta Niemyjska and Dariusz Dąbek, who discussed the practical aspects of spending funds in projects financed under the Action 3.5 of PO WER program (PO WER 3.5). The next speaker, Piotr Ogonowski, an expert on transformation of organization and project management, reviewed various effective methods of project management in the higher education sector.
The main part of the Academy of Innovation consisted of presentations of innovative IT solutions offered by Polish and international providers of services for universities. The presentations were held in two separate thematic tracks: Manage & Administer dedicated to solutions supporting effective administration and management, and Teach & Learn, dedicated to tools supporting students’ education.

Teach & Learn Solutions
- Digital student examination system INSPERA presented on the example of a case study of the Kozminski University – an university that within 2 years of implementation carried out 1350 electronic exams and collected online over 57,000 term papers.

- Alfios – integrated library system, a proprietary solution of 3strona.pl, that enables shortening the process of cataloguing publications through integration with other data and descriptions available in the Internet in a few moments.

- Blackboard Learn Ultra – the newest version of one of the most popular systems for creating and managing e-learning courses.

- Blackboard Ally – a tool cooperating with the Moodle and Blackboard platforms, that increases the availability of educational content through, among others, conversion of the materials to formats such as audio, electronic braille or e-books.

- M-learning – production, implementation, advantages, and benefits. An effective model of digitalization and production of high quality interactive educational content.
