Experience and Achievements at PCG Academia 

Piotr Masalski has been with PCG Academia since 2018. In recent years, he has led the Sciencecloud & DSpace business line. Under his leadership, an integrated ecosystem of tools was created that significantly supports universities and research institutions in digitizing processes related to documenting scientific output, evaluating research activities, and promoting research results through open science. 

Thanks to the team’s work under Piotr’s leadership, Sciencecloud has strengthened its position as one of the most frequently chosen IT systems for research management in Poland. The platform is used by leading Polish universities, including the University of Warsaw, Jagiellonian University, and SWPS University, demonstrating both its effectiveness and adaptability to the diverse needs of academic institutions. 

Open Science Development and International Expansion 

In parallel, as part of efforts in the open science domain, Piotr and his team expanded PCG’s offering based on the DSpace platform. Thanks to his involvement, PCG Academia achieved Platinum Partner status within the global DSpace consortium, becoming one of the most technologically and substantively advanced partners in Europe. 

The company has implemented numerous advanced DSpace-based scientific repository projects, both in Poland and internationally. Among the partners that have joined PCG Academia are the University of Zurich, the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna, and the renowned research institute IMEC in Belgium — all of which testify not only to the quality of the solutions offered but also to the growing importance of the company in the global educational and scientific market. 

New Role and Strategic Goals 

In his new role as Vice President, Piotr Masalski will be responsible for the company’s product development strategy and business development.  His efforts will focus on further expanding the offering, implementing new and innovative modules, and intensifying international expansion. The goal is to strengthen PCG Academia’s position as a leading IT provider for higher education — not only in Poland but globally, with a particular emphasis on highly developed markets.

Piotr Masalski is a graduate of Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń, the Warsaw School of Economics and Kozminski University. He is a respected expert in the design of modern IT systems and actively contributes to the digital transformation of Polish higher education. He combines deep domain expertise with hands-on experience in delivering complex implementation projects, developing product strategies, and building business relationships.
