PCG Academia will deliver WEBCON BPS platform, a leading tool for electronic document workflow and process automation at universities, to Cracow University of Economics.

As part of the project, WEBCON through PCG will grant the University a license enabling the use of WEBCON BPS platform by all its employees and students. The first process to be digitized will be the handling of promotion and habilitation proceedings, carried out by the University’s Scientific Discipline Council, including the procedures of the University’s Doctoral School.

Ultimately, WEBCON BPS will comprehensively support all of the student and administrative processes selected by the University. In addition to the platform itself, PCG will provide the University with the Intelligent OCR – a tool for reading the content of scanned documents and the Designer Desk – a module for prototyping business applications.

Electronic Document Management Systems (EDMS), such as WEBCON BPS, are currently the fastest growing branch of the IT market for universities. The coronavirus pandemic has revealed the need for delivering student and teacher service without their physical presence at a university. The research carried out independently by the Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland (CRASP) and Wolters Kluwer Publishing has shown that more than half of Polish universities plan to purchase an EDM solution within the next three to five years.

Additional impulse for the automation of processes at universities comes from the “EZD RP – electronic documentation management in public administration” project, which is currently being implemented by the Ministry of Digitalisation in partnership with NASK National Research Institute. The objective of the project is to build, develop, and maintain a uniform EDMS, which will be widely used in the public administration sector of the Republic of Poland. Once EZD RP is completed, it will be possible to integrate it with EDM systems operating at universities, such as WEBCON BPS, via an API integration interface.

PCG Academia is a dedicated sales and implementation partner of WEBCON for the higher education market since January 2020. The implementation commissioned by Cracow University of Economics will be the sixth project initiated in the first year of partnership between PCG and WEBCON. To date, the implementation of WEBCON BPS platform has been contracted by the following universities: War Studies University, Collegium Civitas, Medical University of Gdańsk, Jan Kochanowski University of Kielce and Pedagogical University of Krakow.
