PCG Academia has become Elsevier’s exclusive partner in Poland for distribution and integration services related to Pure solution. The partnership with Elsevier, a global leader in the collecting, sharing and analysis of scientific information, solidifies PCG Academia’s position as a leading national provider of research and publications management solutions for universities.

The official signing of the collaboration agreement between PCG and Elsevier took place on March 28th this year in Warsaw, during a meeting between the CEO of Public Consulting Group, Mr. William Mosakowski, and the Director for Global Partnerships at Elsevier, Mr. Koen Mouchaers.

“PCG has been operating in the Polish education market for 13 years. During this time we have established cooperation with thousands of schools and over 60 universities. We understand how the Polish market works and help open it up for our foreign partners. In the past, these included companies such as Blackboard and Inspera. Today, Elsevier joins the ranks of our collaborators. I am convinced that we have a lot of joint successes ahead of us in the coming years”, said Bill Mosakowski, President of PCG.

As part of the collaboration, the PCG team will be responsible for the distribution and delivery of the Pure platform, a Current Research Information System (CRIS) created by Elsevier. Pure will complement PCG’s already existing offer of scientific information management systems, namely Sciencecloud and DSpace.

The first of Elsevier’s products to be added to the PCG Academia portfolio will be the Pure Awards Management module, which supports researchers in securing research grants. The solution automatically monitors a database of more than 5,000 funders and optimizes the grant application process, improving success rates. “As PCG, we support the management of scientific information at the best Polish universities, including University of Warsaw, Jagiellonian University, and SWPS University. We are well acquainted with Polish legal and technological requirements related to the integration with national ministerial reporting systems operated by National Information Processing Institute. By combining PCG’s local experience with global products from Elsevier, we are creating a proposal that has not been available on the Polish education market so far”, says Piotr Masalski, Sciencecloud Product Line Director at PCG Academia.

Elsevier is a global company headquartered in Amsterdam. In its 140 years of history, Elsevier has evolved from a small scientific publishing house into an international provider of literature, scientific information, multimedia and digital tools to the education, science and healthcare sectors around the world.

Elsevier provides high-quality databases, analytical tools, information search engines and research management platforms, and publishes world-class books. Elsevier’s solutions comprehensively support the research process: from generating an idea and winning a grant, to conducting research, and finally sharing the results and analyzing their impact. Elsevier’s portfolio includes such well-known platforms as Scopus, ScienceDirect, SciVal and Mendeley.

Elsevier also leads a number of initiatives related to the development of ways to browse, verify, archive and disseminate information, working with the community of researchers, librarians and other stakeholders around the world.

“As Elsevier, we want to be closer to our Polish customers. I believe that our partnership with PCG will allow us to achieve this goal and significantly increase the exposure of Polish universities to the solutions we offer. Together with PCG, we share the same values – we want to build long-term partnerships with our customers and support them in their continuous development, so I am confident that our cooperation will result in many great projects”, says Koen Mouchaers, Director for Global Partnerships at Elsevier.

The partnership with Elsevier is embedded in PCG Academia’s growth strategy in the area of scientific information management. PCG Academia is already a certified partner of Lyrasis, organization that manages DSpace development, and a member of euroCRIS, a European non-profit association of experts in research information systems.
