The LUMEN Conference is an event organized for the seventh time on the initiative of PCG Academia and the Polish Rectors Foundation. The aim of the Conference is to identify and promote the best practices in the field of professional university management. This year, the organizers are joined by Times Higher Education – the creator of THE World University Rankings, one of the most recognizable and prestigious university rankings in the world.

LUMEN 2021 will be held online on November 23 and 24. During the two days of the Conference, we will present ten high-quality discussion panels with the participation of nearly forty experts in the field of higher education management. The Conference speakers include rectors: prof. Krzysztof Bielawski, prof. Jarosław Bosy, prof. Aleksandra Cisłak-Wójcik, prof. Marta Kosior-Kazberuk, prof. Piotr Kuśtrowski, prof. Zbigniew Lalak, prof. Jerzy Lis, prof. Arkadiusz Mężyk, prof. Aleksandra Przegalińska, and prof. Piotr Wachowiak.

This year’s conference will cover a number of topics important for functioning of Polish universities, including the financing of higher education, evaluation of scientific activities, the presence of Polish universities on the international market, as well as the role of Polish universities in actions for sustainable development. LUMEN, as usual, will also be an platform for occasional speeches by representatives of key institutions in the university sector, such as: Ministry of Education and Science, Chancellery of the Prime Minister, Conference of Rectors of Academic Schools in Poland (CRASP) or National Information Processing Institute – National Research Institute.

Keynote Speech inaugurating LUMEN 2021 will be delivered by Phil Baty, Chief Knowledge Officer at Times Higher Education. The speech will be devoted to the role of universities in the post-covid era. In addition, the representatives of THE – Duncan Ross and Michael Lubacz will participate in discussion panels on the management of scientific information and on sustainable development.

LUMEN 2021 Conference is held under the honorary patronage of the Ministry of Education and Science, as well as the patronage of the Chairman of CRASP, the Polish Accreditation Committee, the Main Council of Science and Higher Education, and the National Information Processing Institute.
